El Gordo's Grill

El Gordo's is a food truck! We ate there three times on our 2-day stay in Terlingua. We had the Al Pastor tacos, tamales, and breakfast tacos. Everything is cooked fresh while you wait. Their Al Pastor was delicious, with fresh, real Pineapple diced on top and delicious cilantro and onions. The tamales were succulent! So hot, fresh, and just made! The breakfast tacos were delicious! We had the tacos as two types refried beans and bought extra chorizo as well and potato with buying extra chorizo. They were SO GOOD!!!! The refried beans were my personal favorite. Their staff is so friendly and their food truck is so clean, with an excellent seating area! Thank you, El Gordo!

Look for the Wright Hardware store signboard for the entrance to El Gordo’s Grill. The turquoise gold truck is parked inside the parking lot up against a small hill. I had the barbacoa tacos and they were delicious. The tamales were yummy too. It’s low key, no fuss and not as long wait as restaurants in Terlingua ghost town.

We ordered a diverse selection of street taco plates, and each one was delectable, characterized by its perfectly balanced spiciness. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed this establishment.

The food and service were amazing. We were looking for something after spending all day at Big Bend and this place did not disappoint! The food was fresh and so delicious! Will definitely be coming back here again.

I ate here two nights in a row while I was in Terlingua exploring Big Bend and I'll be back the next time I'm in town to visit the park. The quesadillas were great, the burger not so much. But portions are huge and filling, and it's a nice area to eat outdoors with tables and shaded tables in front of a little rocky hill. Employees were super nice.

Wow! Best Mexican food we had in Terlingua with the best view! We visited several times. Their breakfast tacos are amazing. Super friendly.

Honestly, we wanted good tacos and tried El Gordo’s Grill because of great reviews. We had brisket tacos and chicken quesadillas and they were both good! Loved the quaint seating and atmosphere. Just what we were looking for.

Food was decent, but service was not the best. There are also around 3 stray dogs roaming around, so it could be a little difficult to eat in peace. We had brought our dog with us as well and all three dogs that were roaming around was making it difficult. It was definitely a little overpriced, but that is to be expected since there are limited options with food. The tacos were also pretty small to the point where you could eat it in almost 2 to 3 bites and the burrito itself was pretty skinny as well. There is also a credit card fee and for some Barbacoa tacos and brisket burrito with two cans cokes, the total was around $30.
